The legendary King David, in his final hours, tells his life story to teenage Abishag, his last bed-warmer, with background illustrations of classical paintings and sculptures (in the style of Ken Burns).
From shepherd boy to the Lord’s anointed, from bloody King Saul’s idolized court musician to rebel poet-warrior, wed to a Princess and beloved of a Prince, uniter of the tribes and conqueror of Jerusalem, seducer of Bathsheba and (allegedly bisexual) lover of wives and concubines, murderer and peace-bringer, father of wise Solomon and wicked backstabber Absalom, David tells all with drama, humor, and self-skepticism, in plain accessible language yet in the sonorous rhythms of Shakespearean iambic pentameter.

Synopsis
Vivian’s spirit rises up from a severely disabled young body to recount a disastrous first date and triumphant deflowering.
The Painted Casket
Two painters, an older man and his younger wife, clash at the funeral parlor viewing of his son, who has died in a motorcycle crash. The paintings on his casket reveal a secret about his relationship with his stepmother.
